Title : Human Nature
I remember quite some time ago, someone approached me to question about my writing skill. To be frank, I would like to call myself a beginner. As I'm learning and teaching myself to put words carefully, I play around with them. When you have passion for something, no matter how many times you fail it, you will still get up and run for it. To improve. As a kid, I've always loved reading. These words on papers were like toys to my eyes. I began to write as young as seven through diaries. The initial purpose was only for the sake of having it since everyone has it. It was from bloghopping that I realized I can make use of this site for good. My writing was bad yet it didn't stop me to continue doing what makes me happy. I kept getting bad comments which almost knocked me down. What brought me up was I noticed that this is what I love to do. A passion that I can't live without. I'm better at expressing emotions through inks than verbal. I accepted the challenge to improve. I pushed myself to learn, multiply the books I read once a month and continue writing. I thanked my friends and teachers for their help. Today, even though I still feel worried at delivering something through writing, it won't stop me to continue learning. When you write, you ink it with passion. Opinions from outsiders are the bridge to improve. Whatever you do that cheers you, there's no reason for you to stop doing it. Wherever you go people will always try to bring you down because they're not happy with you. But what else matters if this thing is what makes YOU happy. There are two things about word that I've learnt. One comes from dictionaries and another comes from each own's definition. When you google or find a word through dictionary, it may give a specific meaning. Usually this applies in terms of formality. Example for school, work or any formal events. While the other part of a word, it comes from a writer. From us. How we would like to define it according to our own story and life experiences. Easiest example: Define love. Second thing about writing is listening. Pay attention to everything around you. When opinions were given be it good or bad, accept it. Just like definitions and choices, opinions too have no rights or wrongs. Everyone wants to be heard so listen carefully. A writer doesn't have a characteristic of selfish and arrogant. You don't argue. You listen and accept. It'll make you wiser. Reading may be important for your grammars and vocabulary. But to me, I don't just read, I learn. Some people think writing is a part of using bombastic words. That is a bonus point. What's really important is how you set your stories and make people understand. Remember, you can't please all readers. Take their critism as a courage to be better. Don't argue, stay kind. You may do this to let people hear you and read you. But above all, do remember everything starts with a strong passion :) |
